The Beatrice Hotel, located in downtown Providence, Rhode Island, is a luxury boutique hotel that seamlessly blends historical charm with modern luxury offering 47 well‑appointed rooms. This position will assist with the opening of a new elevated fitness facility including state of the art workout equipment, saunas, locker rooms, and a pickle ball court. The fitness center is private and will be accessible to hotel guests and office tenants.
JobPurpose
The Fitness Center Attendant plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by creating a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all members and visitors. This position is responsible for greeting guests, verifying membership access, managing pickle ball court scheduling, maintaining facility cleanliness, and monitoring all activity areas to ensure safety and comfort.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Services- Greet all guests and members in a friendly, professional manner
- Provide information about facility amenities, policies, and programs
- Address basic questions and elevate concerns to management as needed
- Manage and maintain the pickle ball court schedule
- Coordinate court reservations and ensure fair and timely access
- Monitor pickle ball court usage to ensure compliance with facility rules
- Keep the facility clean, organized, and free of slip hazards
- Conduct routine inspections of workout areas, pickle ball courts, restrooms, and saunas
- Wipe down equipment and high‑touch surfaces regularly
- Promptly address spills and other safety concerns
- Report maintenance issues or unsafe conditions immediately
- Monitor restrooms to ensure cleanliness and proper supply levels
- Supervise sauna areas to ensure safety and rule compliance
- Observe workout areas to promote a safe exercise environment
- Provide courteous reminders regarding safety guidelines when necessary
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and professional appearance
