Job Summary
Responsible for working collaboratively with project stakeholders and functional managers to develop project goals and objectives, set project timelines, manage change, and control scope. Leads the project team in collaboration with functional leadership to achieve project goals and objectives on time and within budget.
Responsibilities- Assemble the project team, establish authority as project manager, gain consensus, and develop and effectively communicate a clear understanding of the project scope, objectives, mandates, timeframe, budget, and other requirements.
- Follow the standard Project, Program and Portfolio Management Methodology GP3 to ensure consistent delivery of projects across the enterprise while utilizing approved tools and templates for each stage of the project life cycle.
- Actively participate in and champion the establishment, continual improvement, and adoption of project management and other best practices through the IT PMO.
- Create and support an environment of collaboration and mutual support between the functional IT teams and the IT PMO.
- Contribute to employee goals and performance appraisals as related to assigned projects.
- Participate with IT and organizational leadership in project governance activities, including prioritization, negotiation, and resource management.
- Mentor less experienced project managers.
- Work in an office environment and comply with all organization policies and procedures.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience (required).
- Minimum 6 years of managing people, processes, or projects (preferred).
- Critical thinking, information technology project management, interpersonal communication, IT project control and reporting, IT project planning and organization, working independently.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) – required.
- Associate’s degree (equivalent to 2 years of college) or Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to 4 years of college) may be combined with relevant experience.
- PMP certification – highly preferred.
