Lathrop Insurance is a fourth-generation, family-owned agency that protects businesses and families across New England. We deliver tailored insurance programs through trusted relationships, strategic insight, and a relentless focus on retention and service. If you are solutions-driven, detail-oriented, and want to grow with a high-performing team, we want to hear from you.

Position Summary

As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, you will manage a diverse book of business — from professional services to real estate portfolios and construction firms — overseeing accounts with multiple coverages, entities, and locations. You will serve as the primary client contact, responsible for renewals, endorsements, certificates, marketing strategy, and client communications. You will work alongside a producer to market, retain, renew, and service commercial client accounts.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical insurance knowledge, excellent communication skills, organization, and a sense of urgency. You understand the “why” behind coverage and compliance, and you are passionate about using technology to do your best work. You’re confident in communicating with clients and comfortable negotiating with carriers — someone who takes ownership and delivers results.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship & Service
  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned commercial clients.
  • Respond promptly to requests for coverage clarification, certificates, billing, claims support, and policy changes.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively advise on holistic, risk management solutions.
Policy Management & Renewal Execution
  • Conduct comprehensive pre-renewal reviews for assigned accounts, including how to fill gaps in coverage.
  • Collaborate with producers on larger accounts; independently manage smaller accounts.
  • Prepare and present renewal proposals, binders, and comparisons clearly and confidently directly to clients.
  • Process endorsements, cancellations, and audits accurately through Applied Epic.
  • Work with underwriters and marketing reps to negotiate coverage terms, pricing, and retention strategies for new and renewing clients.
  • Identify gaps or outdated coverage and recommend program enhancements.
  • Submit new business and renewal submissions, including applications and loss run analysis.
Process & Technology
  • Maintain accurate client records and activity logs in Applied Epic.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Use technology to streamline service, standardize outputs, and improve turnaround time.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of workflows and cross-team communication.
