Job Summary:Clean and sanitize production department and the production equipment utilized during the production day following Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). Following the Master Cleaning Schedule, perform routine cleaning of the building. To ensure all activities are handled in accordance with Finlay’s mission, business philosophy, ethics, and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Clean and sanitize the production line fillers, tanks, kettles, pumps and product hoses utilized during the production day as outlined in the SSOPs.
- Perform routine cleaning of the building as outlined in the Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Complete all necessary documentation paperwork.
- Assist with the Pallet Cleaning Program.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Practices.
- Maintain inventory control of all sanitizing chemicals.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Performance to Schedule.
- Performance to Health and Safety Standards.
- Safety and Monthly inspections results.
- Knowledge of food plant sanitizing or related services.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written.
- Quality and Safety conscience.
- Able to follow policies and procedures.
- Positive attitude, team player, and work independently.
- Able to work overtime as needed without notice.
- High School graduate or GED
- Food plant sanitizing or two years of related janitorial services
- Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours during peak periods or critical operations
- Must possess adequate vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills to meet essential job performance and safety standards.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, and using hands for detailed tasks
- Physically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, climbing, and using hand and power tools, including pallet jacks, scales, ladders, and standard material handling and cleaning equipment
- Capable of safely lifting up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the day; ability to handle heavier items with proper lifting equipment or team‑assisted techniques to ensure safety
Employees must be able to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment that may include exposure to odors, dust, moderate noise levels, and fluctuations in temperature and ventilation. Work environment may involve exposure to inclement weather. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times, which may include but is not limited to: safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, gloves, hairnets, uniforms, and face shields, as required by specific job duties and safety protocols.
