Position Summary

The Material Handler II – Warehouse at Taco Cranston (TCR) is responsible for receiving, storing, and maintaining accurate records of component parts. This role involves counting, verifying, and organizing all product components and handling tasks related to crating, shipping, and scrapping.

Responsibilities
  • Pull orders from inventory, deliver production materials and supplies where needed, and stage finished product for final distribution.
  • Load, unload, and move materials.
  • Maintain orderly operation of the material storage areas.
  • Identify and label materials and supplies to maintain inventory.
  • Constantly monitor the queue in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Pick and verify materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Deliver materials and supplies within the warehouse.
  • Contact Team Lead and/or Supervisor if a shortage occurs.
  • Locate, pick, and pack materials and/or products and prepare them for shipping.
  • Build crates using a miter saw, nail and staple guns, etc.
  • Assist with processing packages for shipping, including data entry in the parcel carrier systems, communicating with the Customer Care department, and generating advanced shipping notices.
  • Pick up remnant scrap from machines throughout the facility, weigh materials, and dispose of them separately in proper areas.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials and/or finished products into or from trailers.
  • Document details of materials delivered and products shipped within the ERP system.
  • Receive returned materials and supplies from production and verify part numbers and quantities.
  • Maintain material handling equipment, including electric trucks and forklift trucks, by completing pre‑use inspections to ensure good operating condition. Notify Team Lead or Supervisor of any maintenance needs.
  • Operate tablet, computer, scanner, and material handling equipment including forklifts (sit‑down, Drexel, stand‑up, reach, turret, order‑picker), pallet jacks, stepladders, and other equipment to reach material. May use crowbar and mallet for crates.
  • Carry out verification methods as part of the cycle‑count program.
  • Frequently move average‑weight materials as necessary in performance of the job or as directed.
  • Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Team Lead and/or Supervisor.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to attain forklift certification.
  • Skilled in using various types of material handling equipment (a plus).
  • Competent at operating a computer and completing basic data entry in systems.
  • Must successfully learn specific responsibilities as assigned and adhere to production procedures.
  • Proficient and functioning in job responsibilities and following standard practices within 90 days.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and/or move materials up to 30 lbs; capable of using hoists for materials over 30 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity, including standing and lifting.
  • Ability to use computer scanning devices and skin‑wrapping machine.
  • Capable of following verbal and/or written instruction.
