Job Title
Core Responsibilities
- Blueprint Reading & Planning:
Interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and shop specifications to select materials and plan cutting layouts. - Cutting & Shaping:
Operate precision machinery (table saws, routers, CNC machines, jointers) to cut, shape, and join solid wood, veneers, and laminate panels. - Assembly:
Join components using mortise-and-tenon, dovetail, pocket-hole, or dowel joints along with adhesives and fasteners to build cabinet carcasses, face frames, and drawers. - Sanding & Surface Prep:
Prepare wood surfaces through detailed multi-stage hand and power sanding to clear flaws prior to finishing. - Finishing:
Apply stains, sealers, paints, lacquers, or varnishes using sprayers, brushes, or wiping techniques. - Hardware & Installation:
Mount hinges, slides, handles, and pulls; fit cabinet doors and drawers; perform final job site delivery and custom installation.
