Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – School-Based (1:1 Assignment)

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:50 AM – 3:35 PM (~30 hours/week)

Assignment Dates:
August 27, 2026 – June 15, 2027

The Cranston School District is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated 1:1 care for a medically complex kindergarten student. This role focuses on supporting the student’s health, safety, and access to education throughout the school day.

• Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to a medically involved student (male, age 6, Kindergarten)
• Administer daily medications and complete one daily G-tube feeding
• Assist with toileting and mobility, including wheelchair transfers
• Manage AFO splint rotation and hearing aid care
• Monitor and respond to seizure activity, including administration of emergency medication as needed
• Support educational participation while maintaining health and safety
• Ensure consistent daily attendance due to critical nature of assignment

• Provide support to other medically involved students in the building when the assigned student is absent
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation
• Follow and implement the student’s Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP)
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
• Experience with pediatric, school-based, or medically complex care preferred
• Strong skills in emergency response, communication, and independent care delivery

• Updated care plan available at the school
• Interview process: ~30-minute virtual interview via Microsoft Teams
