Position: Assistant Manager I

Overview

We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service, and team development.

Location

Part‑time: 1788 Plainfield Pike, Cranston, Rhode Island 02921‑2042

Responsibilities
  • Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities
  • Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
  • Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas
  • Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
  • Process corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, etc.) and any other store communications
  • Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays
  • Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record‑keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts)
  • Ensure loss prevention measures and store asset security (including cash)
  • Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal; keep all areas neat and presentable
  • Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure associates do the same
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; reading, interpreting, and explaining operational directives required
  • Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
  • Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required
