Overview

The Role:

Intera Hotel Collection is seeking a Group Business Development Manager to drive net-new group business for a select portfolio of independent lifestyle hotels. This is a highly sales-forward, entrepreneurial role designed for a proven group seller who thrives in a hunter model and is motivated by performance-based compensation. This role is remote, based in the Boston market, and reports directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing, with dotted-line collaboration to on-property hotel leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively source, solicit, and close new-to-the-hotels group business
  • Build and convert relationships with third-party meeting planners, sourcing agencies, and intermediaries
  • Focus on corporate, association, SMERF, and regional group segments not historically captured by the hotels
  • Represent Intera Collection hotels as an extension of each property’s sales team
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contracting and turnover
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and production reporting in Salesforce/Delphi
  • Collaborate with hotel DOSMs and GMs on strategy, pricing, and opportunity alignment
  • Travel as needed for client meetings, sales calls, and industry events
Qualifications & Experience
  • Demonstrated success generating net-new group business in a hotel sales environment
  • Experience selling independent or lifestyle hotels (required)
  • Strong relationships within the third-party meeting planner and intermediary community
  • Delphi fluency required; disciplined CRM user
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Self-directed, accountable, and comfortable in a commission-heavy compensation model
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills
