Senior Tax Manager – Public Accounting

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing public accounting firm serving small to medium-sized businesses and individuals. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can manage tax compliance, accounting, and payroll functions while working directly with clients and mentoring staff.

• Tax Compliance & Planning
• Review and manage bookkeeping for small to medium-sized clients
• Oversee payroll processing and filings
• Client Management
• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients
• Build strong, long-term client relationships through proactive communication
• Team & Firm Support
• Review work prepared by staff and provide constructive feedback
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff
• Help improve firm processes, workflows, and documentation

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (Master’s a plus)
• CPA license preferred
• 10+ years of experience in public accounting, with exposure to both tax and accounting
• Strong experience with individual and business tax returns
• Solid understanding of payroll, sales tax, and small business accounting
• Technical Skills
• Proficiency with accounting software
• Experience with tax preparation software
• Payroll systems experience
