Position Summary

At NMCSC, a teacher's goal is to provide each student with the help, counsel, and learning

experience needed to make progress toward educational goals established, to create a flexible

instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, and to

establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge

needed to live a rewarding life in an ever-changing world.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the student's

maturity and interests.

* Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student's

progress.

* Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group

instruction; adapts the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.

* Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning

atmosphere in the classroom.

* Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects, and communicates these

objectives to pupils.

* Exercises good judgment and works effectively with all school personnel, parents and students.

* Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.

* Performs other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience Requirements

* Holds or is eligible to hold a valid Indiana teaching license.

* Bachelor's Degree required.

* History of excellent work attendance.

* Perform duties in a professional and personable manner.

Other/Physical Requirements

* Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA,

FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

* Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other

federal, state and local standards.

* Applicants must be able to pass a Safe Hiring Solutions background check.
