Materials Planner
The Materials Planner is responsible for analyzing supply plans and actual demand to determine material requirements and ensure the appropriate materials are available to support manufacturing operations. This role will manage inventory levels, generate material requisitions through Oracle, maintain MRP and Kanban planning parameters, and make planning adjustments based on changes in supply and demand. The Materials Planner will work closely with cross-functional teams to support production continuity, optimize inventory, and maintain required service levels.
- Analyze supply plans and determine material requirements based on demand, usage, and current inventory level
- Generate and manage material requisitions through Oracle
- Make pull-in and push-out decisions based on supply plan requirements and changing production needs
- Maintain and monitor MRP and Kanban items to ensure required service level
- Maintain Kanban loops using standard deviation Kanban formula
- Create and monitor ISO/Internal Orders
- Maintain planning categories, including MRP, KB, and DSY, as well as sourcing rules and planning parameters
- Monitor material placed on hold or quarantine and manage ISO inventory
- Support engineering changes, including Phase-In/Phase-Out, new product introductions, product transfers, and ECO
- Participate in inventory reduction and optimization initiative
- Monitor installed rack capacity and support efficient material storage
- Maintain inventory levels within healthy operating ranges while ensuring material availability for production
- Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support uninterrupted operation
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in materials planning, supply chain, procurement, or a related area
- Experience with material planning and procurement processes
- Knowledge of MRP and Kanban planning
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Understanding of supply chain processes, including logistics, import, and export
- Experience maintaining inventory levels while supporting required service level
- Knowledge of data maintenance and planning parameters
- Strong execution, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance material availability, inventory optimization, and production requirements
- Bilingual preferred. (Spanish & English)
