This position would suit someone who is seeking a flexible working arrangement who has availability across a variety of days and times. This post is offered on a bank basis, meaning you will be covering ad hoc hours, as and when required, depending on business need.

We are seeking a talented and compassionate Bank Chef to join our established team of Chefs, Catering Assistants and Volunteers to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective in-house catering service. Using your skills to create fresh, well balanced, home cooked meals for our patients and staff, you will ensure dietary requirements and special requests are met with care and precision.
Supporting the Kitchen Lead you will enjoy catering for small events, whilst also developing your skills in desserts and baking. Good knowledge of food safety, allergens and dietary needs will also be a key feature of this role.

Job responsibilitiesWorking as part of the catering team in your role as Bank Chef, you will lead your shift in the running of the kitchen by providing varied, appetising and attractive food and beverages to patients, relatives,staff and visitors to the hospice. Also providing hospitality and refreshments as required.
Chefs will observe and maintain high standards of personal hygiene in addition to safety and hygiene procedures for preparation and storage of food and use of kitchen equipment. Excellent knowledge of food safety and economical use of kitchen supplies is essential.
Person Specification Experience- Good organisational skills
- Ability to plan, prepare and deliver hospitality for events
- Previous cooking experience and expertise.
- Awareness and understanding of nutrition
- Knowledge and experience of working to H&SAW, COSHH standards
- Previous experience of working with volunteers
- Experience of coaching/training other staff/volunteers
- Passion for creativity in recipe and menu development
- Food Hygiene qualification of at least Level 2
- NVQ or equivalent in Catering or Hospitality
- Further catering qualifications, NVQs or equivalent

£16.33 an hour Includes 25% enhancement of £3.27
