The Site Inspector is a seasonal position responsible for inspecting and documenting works carried out on site by Contractors on behalf of the RDCK, ensuring that the Contractor completes the work in general conformity with RDCK Contract Documents.
The Site Inspector will allocate their time in consultation with their supervisor, and may be required to undertake site visits on a regular basis.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- 2 year Post Secondary Diploma in a related field such as Engineering, Drafting, Applied Science or similar
- Minimum 1 year experience working with the public, consultants and contractors
- Valid BC Driver’s License
- Satisfactory Criminal Record
- Knowledge of methods, techniques, and equipment used in civil construction
- Able to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Self‑motivated and highly organized
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Competent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Data gathering, analysis and report writing skills;
- Knowledge in photography
- Knowledge of local area
Projects are anticipated to run from May to October, hours of approx. 20-30 hours per week can be expected. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule, previous site inspection or civil-related experience and will be an effective communicator both on site with contractors as well as remotely to the Project Management team.
2026 MAIN PROJECT:- Creston, Water Meter Installations
The normal starting hourly rate for this position is $29.74 per hour plus mileage as per CRA guidelines.
