Role Description

The Automotive Repair Technology Instructor is a full-time or part-time role based in Mount Ayr, IA. This position is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing instruction in automotive repair technology, including classroom teaching and hands-on lab demonstrations. The instructor will develop and update course materials, align curriculum with industry standards, and maintain a safe, well-organized learning environment and lab space. Daily responsibilities include mentoring students, supervising lab work, evaluating student performance, and providing constructive feedback to support skill development.

The role also involves collaborating with colleagues, participating in program improvement initiatives, engaging with industry partners as appropriate, and contributing to college committees and student success activities. This teaching contract would meet daily at the Mount Ayr CTE Center beginning August 2026, in alignment with Mount Ayr s district calendar.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or AAS degree in auto repair or a minimum of 6,000 hours of recent, relevant auto repair experience.
  • Previous teaching experience is desired but not required.
  • Relevant industry certifications- ASE Master Certification is required and can be obtained during the on-boarding process.
  • Possess strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Commitment to safety practices in automotive labs, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective gear.
