Patient Food Service Associate, Part-time (Apostolic Christian Village)

AVI Food systems is looking for a dedicated Patient Food Service Associate to join our team at Apostolic Christian Village in Rittman, OH. This part‑time position is vital in providing meal service delivery to patients, managing dietary requirements and upholding high‑quality standards of service.

Career Path: Working as a dietary aide is often a starting point for those pursuing careers in nursing, nutrition, or healthcare management, providing valuable experience in a customer‑service environment.

Part‑time scheduled hours for this position:

  • 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Rotating Weekends and Holidays

Starting wage is $15/hr.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take patient menu selections and ensure compliance with prescribed diets (e.g., low‑sodium, diabetic).
  • Assemble meal trays according to specific diet orders, deliver accurately and timely to patient rooms, and retrieve them after mealtimes.
  • Help patients open containers, arrange utensils and communicate dietary concerns to nursing staff.
  • Observe and record patients’ food and liquid intake.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, wash dishes and maintain kitchen equipment to meet health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Entry level, training provided
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow instructions and strong attention to detail
  • Physical stamina for prolonged standing, walking and ability to push heavy food delivery carts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse patients and staff
