Purpose

Basic FunctionAs the Outreach Coordinator you will work with the stakeholders including volunteers, staff, target audiences, and vendors to achieve the mission and goals of Union County Farm Bureau, a membership organization of approximately 675 families. Duties include creating documents in a Microsoft environment, managing social media communications, Ag in the Classroom program management, coordinating outreach opportunities in community and schools as well as partnership development.
EssentialFunctions
- Support the County Board of Directors by organizing meetings, preparing agendas and materials, crafting minutes, coordinating refreshments, and handling follow-up tasks
- Communicate with Committee Chairs, Executive Officers, and Board of Directors as needed on projects or county business
- Serve as a positive liaison between supervisor, staff, volunteers, and affiliated companies
- Maintain regular contact with supervisor regarding Farm Bureau activities
- Collect and process membership information from new or existing members
- Maintain and update the membership database, and analyze data to support outreach and engagement efforts
- Organize member service and support tasks. Not limited to membership benefits, member account questions, information changes and overall membership customer service
- Write and submit articles to the Spokesman publication and local media outlets, and manage member advertisements for publication
- Maintain a social media presence on important platforms
- Coordinate Ag in the Classroom programming within county school districts
- Develop and coordinate outreach efforts as directed by the County Board of Directors
- Design, edit, and maintain promotional materials using creative platforms, such as Canva, to support outreach and engagement initiatives
- Coordinate the financial accounts and records for Union County Farm Bureau by processing invoices to be paid, submitting expenses for payment and surfacing financial reports.
- Position is currently part time at 20 hours per week
- Based in Creston, Iowa
