Position Summary

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides comprehensive, patient-centered mental health care across the lifespan through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of psychiatric disorders. The clinician is responsible for delivering evidence-based psychiatric services, including conducting psychiatric evaluations, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, providing psychotherapy or brief therapeutic interventions, coordinating care with interdisciplinary team members, and creating a safe and therapeutic environment in alignment with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications
  • Masters or Doctoral level accredited program qualifying for licensure in the state of Iowa and for a controlled substance Registration Certificate (DEA)
  • Adequate written skills to accurately complete required documentation within the prescribed time frames
  • Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, staff, or community
  • CPR training or completion within three months
  • Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
  • Work hours as prescribed and any additional hours as necessary for assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide psychiatric and health evaluations and follow-ups with appropriate medication treatments prescribed.
  • Provide CBT treatment for anxiety disorders.
  • Provide group psycho educational programming for clients.
  • Provide staff education on appropriate topics, and student education in clinical work.
  • Provide various administrative and team meetings as appropriate.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities as assigned.
  • Participate in infection control activities and maintain knowledge of current infection control techniques.
  • Follow up on previous or new medical conditions that may affect treatment at Rosecrance.
  • Make appropriate dietary referrals as needed.
  • Maintain certification in adult and infant/child CPR.
  • Serve as a member of the assigned teams and participate in all team meetings and activities.
  • Understand and comply with all principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
  • Serve as a role model for staff, clients, and customers, demonstrating positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
  • Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by management.
Schedule

Flexible between:

  • 4-10 hour days a week, with 1 week of on-call rotation approximately every 5 weeks.
  • 5-8 hour days a week

Work Location: Creston or Sioux City; some hybrid possible.

Compensation & Rewards

Starting salary: $128,752 (based on education, experience, and credentials).
