Retail Lead Hand

Overview

The Retail Lead Hand supports daily operations in a busy greenhouse environment during the peak growing season. This role blends hands on plant care, customer service, and team leadership. You’ll help keep the retail area running smoothly, ensure customers have a great experience, and support the greenhouse team with day-to-day tasks.

• Customer Support — Greet customers, answer plant related questions, provide product recommendations, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Team Leadership — Guide seasonal staff on daily tasks, support training for new team members, and help maintain a productive, friendly work environment.
• Retail Operations — Assist with merchandising, pricing, signage, advertising, inventory counts, and maintaining clean, organized retail spaces.
• Greenhouse Support — Help with watering, stocking benches, unloading shipments, and general plant care as needed.
• Point of Sale Duties — Operate the till, process transactions, handle returns, and maintain accuracy in cash handling.
• Problem Solving — Address customer concerns, identify issues on the retail floor, and communicate needs to management.

• Experience in retail, customer service, or greenhouse/nursery work
• Ability to lead by example and support a small team
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, physically active environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Basic plant knowledge is an asset (training provided)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Availability on weekends and peak seasonal days

Seasonal position:
March - August (exact dates vary).

Hours:

Full time seasonal, with increased hours during peak weeks.
