Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Plan, prepare, and implement engaging instructional activities in assigned subjects to foster meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, create, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse student needs, including varying backgrounds and learning styles.
• Supervise students assigned to the class, conduct roll calls, maintain attendance records, and ensure classroom order using effective behavior management techniques.
• Evaluate student progress, grade assignments and assessments, and counsel students on academic and behavioral development.
• Collaborate with supervisors and peers through team teaching, meetings, and professional learning communities to enhance instruction.
• Communicate with students, parents/guardians, and stakeholders within established timelines, modeling professional and ethical standards.
• Ensure continuous student growth appropriate for age, subject area, and program classification, meeting course and school-wide performance goals.
• Participate in blended learning models, including online and classroom instruction at various residential facilities; report to assigned facility as required.
• Provide instructional tutoring and academic support services in person at assigned Department of Juvenile Justice residential facilities.
• Demonstrate proficiency with technology, including software applications and digital tools, to support daily tasks and troubleshoot issues.
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, including meeting deadlines and coordinating resources effectively.

The company is looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in the assigned content area, or active enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program with a valid Florida Statement of Eligibility or Temporary Certificate.
• Preferred certifications include Exceptional Student Educational (ESE) Certification, Gifted Endorsement, ESOL Endorsement, and Reading Endorsement.
• Teaching experience in the subject area, successful completion of an FLVS instructional internship, or current enrollment in an approved EPI or MAT program.
• Operational knowledge of internet and web-related technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and classroom management abilities.
• Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Responsible, accountable, self-motivated, with a strong work ethic to achieve school goals.
• Effective prioritizing, organizing, and time-management skills with ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
• Ability to learn and apply required computer applications to enhance workflow and instructional practices.
• Capability to function effectively in a high-demand environment and support student-centered behaviors.

• Annual salary of $59,850.
