Description
You will be an Aircraft Mechanic II for our Special Operations Forces Global Logistic Support Services (SOF GLSS) team, based in Crestview, FL. Our team is responsible for modifying military aircraft and ground vehicles to meet the evolving operational needs of the SOF community.
What You Will Be Doing- Read and comprehend complex mechanical drawings, troubleshoot technical problems and issues, and determine technical solutions in accordance with company drawings, procedures and specifications.
- Work closely with Team Leads to ensure aircraft is delivered on time and within budget.
This position supports our Special Operations Forces – Global Logistics Support Services contract, which is the U.S. Special Operations Command's (USSOCOM) largest service contract vehicle providing a wide range of tailored logistics, maintenance, and sustainment services. Further Information About This OpportunityThis position is in Crestview, FL. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access and is in direct support of a U.S. government contract that requires a company-sponsored clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications- Minimum of four (4) years of sheet metal experience performing aircraft modifications or demonstrated aptitude.
- Knowledge base and experience in general aviation maintenance practices.
- Strong aptitude to read and interpret complex aircraft mechanical drawings – Blueprints, TCTO’s, Supplemental Work Instructions, Service Bulletins, Installation Drawings, ETC.
- Experience with installation and removal of special fasteners and tooling.
- Ability to perform with demands of precise set limits, tolerances, or standards.
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, and must have an interim secret clearance prior to start; all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Heavy modification, integration, or repair sheet metal experience on aircraft.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to maintain respirator fitness qualification.
- Ability to perform confined space entry.
- Experience with C-130 aircraft.
- Active Secret Clearance.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.

- Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. - Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
