Transportation Director​/Practice Leader

Halff is seeking a Director / Practice Leader, holding a Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License, to provide leadership and guidance in the Florida transportation market. The role focuses on strategy and growth with FDOT districts, overseeing the transportation planning, design, and related services across the state, including business development, client relationships, and project delivery.

• Providing strong leadership and guidance in areas of technical expertise and overseeing the transportation practice in the region.
• Researching markets, developing and maintaining client relationships, and identifying business opportunities.
• Creating and executing strategic plans and guiding practice growth.
• Leading successful strategic pursuits and capture planning for specific opportunities.
• Working closely with operations staff in the region to identify, hire, develop, and grow key staff and resources, ensuring successful project delivery.
• Collaborating with Halff's national Transportation Practice to implement best practices and leverage firm-wide resources.

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET‑accredited equivalent engineering degree.
• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Florida.
• Established leadership and industry expertise.
• Strong client connections, particularly DOT relationships at senior levels.
• Positive attitude, self‑directed yet a team player, with a focus on integrity and quality.

• Extensive knowledge in planning, designing, and managing transportation projects to move people and goods safely and reliably.
