Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our orthopedic rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will assist Physical Therapists in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care focused on restoring strength, mobility, and function following orthopedic injuries and surgeries. The PTA will play a key role in helping patients return to their active lifestyles through evidence‑based therapy techniques and personalized care plans.
This position operates in an outpatient clinical setting focused on orthopedic and sports‑related conditions, involving direct patient care, physical activity, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Implement treatment programs developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy.
- Assist patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, joint replacements, and musculoskeletal disorders.
- Instruct and motivate patients in performing prescribed exercises and proper movement techniques to promote recovery and prevent reinjury.
- Observe and record patient responses to treatments, documenting progress and reporting changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, activity modifications, and postural/body mechanics for injury prevention.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in accordance with practice and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, and other members of the care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment area and ensure proper equipment usage.
- Participate in continuing education and staff development activities to stay current with orthopedic and sports rehabilitation techniques.
- Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- CPR Certification required.
- Strong understanding of orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented outpatient environment.
- Compassionate, professional, and patient‑focused approach to care.
- Prior experience in an orthopedic or sports medicine clinic preferred.
