Job Summary

The Healthcare Support Specialist is one of the primary points of contact forthe medical office. The Healthcare Support Specialist helps coordinate the care of the patients and serves as a liaison with the patient, medical staff, and provider of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcomesandgreetsall patients and visitors, in person or over the phone.
  • Registers walk-innew patients and updates and verifies existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information, including personal and insurance or financial information.
  • Checks patients inthroughintakefacilitatingpatient flow by notifying the provider of the patient’s arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
  • Schedule sin houseMRI’sand referrals.
  • Scheduling and rescheduling offuture patient appointments.
  • Collectingpatientcopays,coinsurances,and allowable payments andreconcilingthese payment sat the end of each dayin your daily batch ledger.
  • Verifying Insurance
  • Prepping Clinic Schedules
  • Responds to patients, prospective patients, and visitors' inquiries courteously.
  • Protects patients’ rights bymaintainingconfidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Keeps office supplies within the clinic adequately stocked byanticipatinginventory.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Experience Preferred
  • 6 months, plus of relevant experience scheduling in a medical office environment
  • Experience working with medical EHR, Athena experience preferred.
  • Experience in Orthopedics or Pain Management is a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Travel to coverdifferentlocationsmay be required
  • Able to standandsit for extended periods of time
