Position: OPS FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER - 64946182

Ops Family Support Worker -

This position is advertised as part-time, working 20 hours per week. Your specific responsibilities include giving basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothers, helping mothers prevent and handle common breastfeeding concerns, counseling WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, keeping accurate records of all contacts made with WIC mothers, referring mothers to WIC nutritionist or breastfeeding coordinator, attending and assisting with prenatal classes and breastfeeding support groups, attending monthly staff meetings and breastfeeding conferences/workshops as appropriate, reading assigned books and materials on breastfeeding that are provided by the supervisor, and assisting WIC staff in promoting breastfeeding peer counseling through special projects and duties as assigned.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include strong interpersonal and customer services skills, ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner, knowledge and experience with data entry and/or documentation practices, experience working with computers and basic office equipment, and experience working with Microsoft Office applications.
