Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineer
Crestview Aerospace is a manufacturing organization working closely with large aircraft and weapon systems OEMs such as Boeing Defense, Bell, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Northrop Grumman, and several others to deliver complex design‑to‑build and build‑to‑print assemblies. Crestview Aerospace operates from two manufacturing sites—St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, FL—and employs approximately 300 professionals.
Principal Responsibilities And Accountabilities- Lead and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team to support production schedules and operational goals.
- Assign and prioritize maintenance work orders and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and hands‑on assistance to maintenance technicians.
- Train, mentor, and support maintenance personnel in troubleshooting techniques, safety practices, and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Assist management with employee development, performance feedback, and departmental improvement initiatives.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive safety culture throughout the department.
- Oversee and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and production equipment to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and diagnostics on equipment to identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning, calibration, and adjustment of machinery and equipment.
- Monitor preventative maintenance schedules and ensure completion of assigned PM activities.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Prior leadership or lead experience within a maintenance department preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints.
- Advanced technical knowledge in:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems (–15
VDC to 480
VAC) - PLC troubleshooting
- VFDs
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and lead a team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary company information.
- Certifications in electrical, mechanical, PLC, or industrial maintenance disciplines are preferred.
- Primarily works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
- Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials.
- May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.
Manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach, have close visual acuity for computer terminal use, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects and parts, and/or operation of machines and assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must communicate effectively and maneuver up to 20 pounds.
Substantial wrist, hand, and finger movements may be required.
