Job Duties
- Document detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Always maintain training currency.
- Lays out, locates, fits, trims, assembles, and installs parts assemblies and skins where dimensions are critical and fitting is to exacting tolerance.
- Drill, countersink and rivet exterior skin panels where skin quality is critical. Works from all types of complex blueprints, E.O.'s and production illustrations
- Completes inspection of existing aircraft structures
- Completes any or all structural rework/repair, squawks, and E.O.'s.
- May be required to work in confined space.
- Fabricate detail parts from blueprint or engineering instructions
- Perform aircraft inventory, acceptance, and inspections
Material & Equipment Directly Used
Drive company vehicle.
Operate ground support equipment required to perform daily job functions.
Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and organize inventory within non-air conditioned hangar maintenance areas and outdoors flight line.
Physical Activities
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee must be able to work on their feet for 10 hours.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years of documented experience in aircraft structural installation, modification, troubleshooting and repair.
- Heavy C-130 structural modification/inspection experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical orders, drawings, and blueprints.
- Always maintain training currency.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to schedule job tasks to meet completion timeline.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain in force a valid driver’s license.
- Must be a citizen of the United States of America
- Must be able to pass a stringent background investigation
- Must be able to utilize computer-based systems to perform duties
- Must be able to work Independently and safely
- Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule.
- Some travel possible, up to 25%
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of aircraft mechanical experience.
- Ability to utilize computer-based systems to perform duties.
- Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule.
