Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities
Other duties may be assigned.
- Routine Inspections & Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Inspection & Testing: Inspect and test machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before they lead to failures.
- Lubrication, Cleaning, Calibration: Lubricate, clean, and calibrate machines as required to maintain proper functioning.
- Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in machinery.
- Repair/Replacement: Repair or replace faulty parts, components, and systems.
- Electrical & Control Systems: Work with electrical circuits, PLCs and VFDs, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to perform repairs.
- Tool Use: Possess ability to use tools and alignment equipment.
- Installation & Commissioning: Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery or systems.
- Setup & Adjustment: Set up and adjust machinery for specific production requirements, ensuring optimal performance.
- Record‑Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs and parts replacements; use Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and industry standards (LOTO, ARC FLASH, PPE); comply with environmental, health and safety laws and regulations.
- Collaboration & Training: Work closely with operators and production staff to understand machine issues and prevent downtime; provide training and guidance on equipment handling and maintenance practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvements in machine performance, reliability and energy efficiency; work with management to implement solutions to optimize machine operations.
- High School Diploma or GED with 7 years of related experience and advanced certification in assigned areas.
- 2‑4 years of machine repair experience including control systems, troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong electrical and electronics knowledge from
-15 VDC to 480 VAC. - Strong troubleshooting, hydraulic and pneumatic skills.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.
- Supervisory experience to lead a daily team.
- Experience with preventive maintenance on various equipment.
- Must be able to work any shift, including weekends and overtime as required.
- Must adhere to company policies, procedures and management instructions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and company proprietary data.
Primarily works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials.
May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to work in a manufacturing/assembly environment with noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles and electrical current; must be able to bend, reach, and maneuver up to 20 pounds. Must have close visual acuity for computer terminal viewing, extensive reading, visual inspection of small defects and parts, and operation of machines at close distance to the eyes.
Must communicate effectively and perform substantial movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
