As an OR Travel Nurse you will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, provide pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education, and work within the operating suite while maintaining sterile fields.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication and report any adverse reactions.
• Serve as the communication liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Ensure that the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician and teach patients and families how to manage medication and home care.
• Respond to comfort and safety needs of patients.
• Accurately care for and handle specimens.
• Monitor equipment used during surgery.
• Maintain inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
• Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Assist physicians by providing direct surgical care, controlling bleeding, and suturing patients following surgery.

• ACLS, BLS, PALS certification.
• 2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.
• Proficiency in standing and walking for long periods, bending, leaning, stooping, and lifting 20–50 pounds.
