The airports in Crestview and Destin are seeking full-time Parks Groundskeepers to join their teams. Located in Crestview and Fort Walton Beach, FL, this position supports operations at the Okaloosa County Parks Department. The Groundskeeper performs grounds maintenance, custodial, landscaping duties, and light facility maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for county staff and the public.

• Maintain assigned grounds through landscaping duties including mowing, weeding, pruning, and pest control; repair and maintain irrigation systems.
• Operate manual, electric, and gas-powered tools and equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, hedgers).
• Clean and maintain equipment; ensure storage areas remain organized and orderly.
• Prepare areas for sodding and repair public safety hazards such as ground holes or loose turf.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on grounds equipment and vehicles before and after use.
• Conduct minor repairs, including small engine work, fuel system replacement, basic wiring, and welding; report major issues to a supervisor.
• Perform light facility maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, HVAC air filters (per preventative maintenance schedule), and basic plumbing fixtures as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous landscaping or grounds maintenance experience preferred
• Facility maintenance experience preferred
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and a clean driving record required

• Starting wage of $19/hour
• Crestview location schedule: Tuesday-Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Fort Walton Beach location schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
