Description

Job Summary
This is moderate to heavy manual work involving the installation and maintenance of sewer utility service equipment. Work is performed and reviewed under the supervision of the Sewer Supervisor. This position requires after-hours work and frequent standby status.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform installation and maintenance duties on sewer utility lines and other related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and make emergency repairs at all hours to sewer utilities as required.
• Operate light duty truck in delivering goods and equipment to field sites.
• Investigate and address complaints regarding sewer utility services.
• Some night and weekend work is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of modern principles, practices, and techniques utilized for the installation and maintenance of various aspects of water/sewer utility systems.
• Demonstrate skill in the use of required tools and equipment
• Good knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade;
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Possession of valid Florida license

Education

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year experience in performing moderate to heavy manual labor, preferably in the underground utility services area.
• Must acquire Class A CDL permit within sixty (60) days in position.

Physical Requirements

• Willingness to perform manual work and the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Possess the physical strength and agility to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
