Aircraft Maintenance/ Mechanic
Description: You will be an Electronics Technician II, applying your comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems and maintain, repair, troubleshoot, modify, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices. Our team is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of electronic systems, and we’re looking for a skilled and experienced technician to join us.
Responsibilities- Interpreting manufacturers’ manuals and technical documents to solve complex problems
- Troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment, including radar, radio, television, telecommunications, sonar, and navigational aids
- Installing, modifying, and maintaining electronic systems, including personal and main‑frame computers and terminals
- Evaluating the performance and reliability of prototype or production‑mode equipment and recommending changes to simplify assembly and maintenance
- Reading and interpreting USAF technical orders, service bulletins, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and the best method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning systems
- Providing technical guidance to lower‑level technicians and receiving guidance from supervisors or higher‑level technicians as needed
This work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequences, selecting tools and testing instruments, and compliance with accepted practices. The technician must be proficient with USAF Technical Orders, operating the Data Transfer and Diagnostic System (DTADS), documenting AFTO 781 forms, and entering data into the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS). Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses or other electrical components associated with aircraft system functionality is required.
Knowledge of HAZMAT/HAZWASTE, corrosion control, inspection/repair, maintenance inspection, aircraft launch and recovery, aircraft servicing, towing, and jack/shoring of aircraft is also required. Three (3) years of C‑130J flight‑line aircraft experience is required, and the candidate must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain a secret security clearance.
- Six (6) years of experience on C‑130J aircraft
- Experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft avionics and electrical systems (GAC, Com/Nav, EW, Sensors, Electrical)
- Previous experience as a 7‑Level/CDI Aircraft Electronic/Avionics Technician on C‑130J aircraft
- Previous APU run certification desired
This position requires a government security clearance and must be held by a U.S. citizen. Clearance level:
Secret.
