Position: Clinical Research Nurse - Mercy South - Research experience required

Position

Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) – Mercy South – Full time – 40 hours per week.

Overview

Responsible for coordinating research studies conducted by Mercy Research, managing day‑to‑day operational tasks related to clinical trials, and supporting the overall study load. Duties include volunteer recruitment, drug/device/supply inventory maintenance, interaction with physicians, nurses, office staff, patients, and clinical monitors, as well as collection, compilation, documentation, and analysis of clinical research data while complying with local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit volunteers for clinical trials.
  • Maintain drug/device/supply inventory.
  • Interact with physicians, nurses, office staff, patients, and clinical monitors.
  • Collect, compile, document, and analyze clinical research data.
  • Assist with training and preceptor duties.
  • Communicate and build relationships with sponsors and CROs.
Required Qualifications
  • Education:

    Nursing Diploma, Nursing Associate’s degree, or Nursing Bachelor’s degree.
  • Licensure:
    Registered Nurse with a valid state license.
  • Experience:

    2 years of nursing experience for a Bachelor’s degree, 3 years for an Associate’s degree or diploma; prior clinical research experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities: basic patient assessments (vital signs, spirometry, ECGs, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring), excellent communication skills, professional interaction, computer proficiency (Internet, Microsoft Office, printers), math proficiency (metric system), teamwork, and problem‑solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • 2 years of clinical research experience.
