Maintenance Worker I or II
The City of Crestwood Public Works Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Worker I or II. The role involves labor required to maintain the City’s 50 miles of streets and 120 acres of park properties. Responsibilities include operating various trucks, light and heavy equipment, and performing semi‑skilled work such as asphalt patching, concrete work, crack sealing, grading, forestry, horticulture, landscaping, retaining walls, painting, carpentry, and trash removal from City properties.
The employee will be on‑call during winter months to remove snow and ice from City streets, parks, sidewalks, and steps. Frequent lifting and moving of light and heavy objects is required. Work includes non‑routine, weekend, and emergency hours, and requires the ability to work in extreme temperatures. Additional duties as assigned will be performed.
The qualified applicant will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of street maintenance, equipment/truck operations, snow removal procedures, construction, and related fields is preferred. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License within six months of employment. Must be able to pass a Police background check and a drug screen consistent with DOT guidelines.

Salary:
For entry‑level experience, $42,236 – $44,339 per year. For applicants with seven or more years of experience and a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes, the salary range is $50,500 – $53,025 per year.
Benefits include eleven and a half paid holidays, sick and vacation time, health, dental, vision and life insurance, boot allowance, and retirement benefits (including LAGERS).
