Crete Analytical Laboratory – Regular (US Only)

We are looking for a Sample Receiving Technician at 3600 Eagle Nest Dr, North Building, Crete, IL 60417 USA. The role involves overseeing the smooth transition of the lab workflow in receiving and processing samples, training new technicians, and addressing technical questions.

• Provide comprehensive knowledge of the Sample Receiving department, including documentation and procedures, and deliver technical training as needed.
• Identify improvements for time management and collaborate with supervisors or managers.
• Train new Sample Receiving Technicians in sample and log‑in processing procedures, computer systems entry, and shipping protocols.
• Receive and log samples in the LIMS system; assist with re‑testing, worksheet corrections, and reprinting as required.
• Communicate with internal and external clients about sample issues or follow‑up questions via telephone.
• Schedule employees for lab assignments when supervisory staff are unavailable.
• Ensure all samples are accounted for at day‑end and investigate any discrepancies.
• Assist the supervisor or lead in tracking and monitoring errors and resolve “on hold” sample projects.
• Investigate and resolve a CCNC independently, seeking leadership advice when necessary.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years laboratory experience with knowledge of safety procedures and policies.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Experience in a Receiving department preferred.
• Proficiency with data entry, clerical tasks, and advanced interpersonal communication skills.
• Client service experience preferred.

• Occasional contact with personnel outside the immediate working unit.

• Work in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control.
• Exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials; required safety equipment includes gloves, laboratory coat, and eyeglasses.
• Continuous lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
• Extended periods standing.

Compensation: $18.00 – $18.50/hr USD
