Chemistry Technician – Crete Analytical Laboratory

The incumbent will perform chemical analysis of food, pharmaceutical, and other samples, ensuring accurate, timely results while maintaining a clean, safe laboratory environment.

• Prepare and analyze samples for protein, moisture, fat, ash, macro‑ and micronutrients, and other components.
• Compost, grind, and otherwise prepare samples per SOPs.
• Extract target analytes, create and maintain standards and reagents.
• Record and label samples, calculate results and interpret data.
• Track test status, report non‑compliance, and support laboratory workflow.
• Maintain LIMS entries and quality documents.
• Perform routine instrument preventive maintenance and cleaning.
• Assist and train other analysts as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies, participate in cleanliness schedules, and handle materials up to 50 lb.
• Support quality & continuous improvement initiatives.

• Associate’s degree with one or more years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry and experience with wet and instrumental procedures.
• Analytical skills and ability to interpret microorganism concentrations.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System.
• Physical dexterity for sample manipulation.

Hourly rate: $18.50 USD.
