We are looking for a Lead Research Microbiologist
- Molecular in 3600 Eagle Nest Dr, Crete, IL 60417 USA. Your mission will be to:

The incumbent performs multi-step tests related to the molecular laboratory services and maintains process documentation to facilitate microbiological and molecular biology analysis procedures and supports study design, execution, and training in the molecular department

• Perform rapid method tests as well as multi-step tests such as gene sequencing, DNA subtyping analysis, real-time PCR methods, and next generation sequencing.
• Lead and organize testing schedules and inventory to ensure due dates are met. Communicates with customer care representative for delivering results and vendors for troubleshooting results or equipment issues.
• Verify results before release to the clients. Read and record analysis data to produce a report for the client. Correct any discrepancies that occur. Perform literature searches as necessary to investigate and understand results. Perform calculations and input results as requested. Interpretation and release of results may be done in specific instances. Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that is required to complete job responsibilities.
• Review and maintain accurate quality control documentation of analysis procedures. Update and review logbooks, transfer data, and maintain records.
• Train analysts where required and participate in the training program.
• Maintain laboratory as it relates to testing, housekeeping and inventory. Perform necessary housekeeping duties in a timely manner, keeping the work areas and equipment clean and sanitized. Perform standard maintenance for key pieces of equipment. Perform cleaning protocols for GMP and ISO 17025 laboratory work space. Perform necessary tasks related to quality control parameters for the function being performed.
• Support study design and validation of new methods or tests as necessary. Participate in client calls to understand and/or review studies as necessary.
• Assume supervisory duties in absence of supervisor.
• Support laboratory management and corporate quality in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the management system. This position has the responsibilities and authority to identify departures from the management system or test procedures and document such observations in accordance with the prescribed non-conforming system and notifies the supervisor.
• Coordinate with other department personnel to maintain smooth flow of work.
• Adhere to all safety policies.

  Reports to Research Project Leader/Manager/Director. Regularly communicates for guidance, performance feedback, and project updates.
• Team Members:
  Collaborates with team members in the Molecular Department to ensure effective execution of tasks, exchange of information, and teamwork in daily operations.
• Cross-Functional Teams:
  Maintains regular interaction with cross-functional teams such as Research & Development and Quality, fostering interdepartmental collaboration for successful project execution.
• Clients/Customers:
  Regularly communicates with clients to discuss service needs, project timelines, and ensure client satisfaction. Represents the company in client meetings and provides excellent customer service.
• Vendors/Suppliers:
  Liaises with vendors/suppliers for troubleshooting or status of orders/reagents needed for testing.
