As a Student Affairs Student Office Assistant, you will gain valuable experience associated with three areas:
Guest Desk, Event Assistant, and Administrative Support. The purpose of this position is to support the goals of the Office of Student Affairs. You must be willing to train and work all three of these types of tasks when working as a Student Affairs Office Assistant.

There is a required Student Leadership Summit scheduled on Sunday, April 26, 2026. Please be sure that you are available to commit to attending the summit on this date.
General Duties- Retrieve and deliver mail each day.
- Check the copier to make sure there is sufficient paper and make sure there is an ample supply in the cupboard. Replenish copy paper supply as needed.
- Post any flyers that are submitted and approved and remove outdated notices from bulletin boards. Keep the approved posting areas neat.
- Make sure the main desk and pod area is clean and clear of clutter.
- Run errands as indicated.
- Greet and assist guests, students, and staff who walk into the office. This involves being familiar with student services across campus, the general physical layout of campus, and/or the ability to look these items up to assist those with questions.
- Assistants should professionally answer the phone and learn the functions of the Zoom phone system so calls can be transferred. Also, should be familiar with taking messages. Training will be provided.
- Create, post, and monitor flyers in approved posting locations across campus for upcoming events and change out large posters in holders.
- Assist with occasional event set up and tear down, and help prepare for larger events on campus. Assist with after-hours events as requested and schedule allows.
- Monitor and update the Student Affairs Programming Calendar.
- Monitor and maintain student org rosters; identify active groups on campus and maintain spreadsheets
- Assist with setting up Student Leader Trainings
- Data entry of rosters into spreadsheets
- Manage a list of all RSOs on campus
- Establish and maintain regular social media presence for the residence halls, student affairs office, and SPB .
- Organize SPB storeroom and clean after events. Help keep the Perry Pod and conference room neat and tidy.
- Prepare and maintain an inventory of items stored in the SPB room. Develop a check-out procedure for games, etc.
- Help organize and execute specific SPB projects.
- Make regular posts on our social media platform – develop and execute a Student Affairs presence on social media.
- Place posters on screens in the residence halls and outside the dining hall.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Graphic design and Canva experience is a plus
