Gift Entry and Advancement Data Specialist
Doane University’s Division of Institutional Advancement seeks a customer‑focused individual to perform precise gift entry, acknowledgment, and reporting. The specialist ensures gifts are recorded in accordance with donor intent, university policy, and IRS regulations, and supports data integrity, reporting, and donor stewardship across the organization.
Responsibilities- Accurately process, acknowledge, and report charitable contributions.
- Maintain donor and gift records within the institution’s data systems.
- Prepare routine and ad‑hoc reports to aid fundraising, engagement, and stewardship efforts.
- Communicate gift income information to the business office for proper accounting.
- Execute established workflows to support the data quality and reporting needs of the Office of Institutional Advancement.
- Associate’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with databases or customer relationship management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record‑keeping.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word) and Google Workspace.
- Ability to learn new technologies and processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to customer service, confidentiality, and teamwork.
- Experience in higher education or nonprofit environments with data entry, reporting, gift processing, or administrative support.
