Purpose of Job
The primary responsibility of a Student Programming Board ( SPB ) member is to plan and implement a variety of events for the Doane University community. SPB members are to ensure that SPB is providing social, recreational, educational, and entertainment programs that are responsive to the needs of the community and consistent with the mission of Doane through our five main focuses:
Creative marketing & social media, Inclusive programming for all Doane students, Recreation & wellness, Special Events, and Doane University Traditions. As the SPB Team Leader, you will be working with the rest of the SPB team to:
- serve on the exec board as either president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer
- map out event timelines and budgets
- identify areas in campus programming that require additional support or planning
- create thorough and timely event proposals with research and talent selection

General Description and Duties
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the execution of various SPB activities throughout campus
- Serve as a point person or co-point person for at least two events each year for your committee
- Execute hospitality riders for all contracted artists/events/entertainers with support from co-advisor
- Assist in creative marketing efforts for SPB as a whole and for individual events
- Act professionally whenever representing the Board and/or conducting Board business, both on and off campus
- Maintain a good standing with Doane University, both academically and judicially
- Must attend the Student Leadership Summit on April 26th, 2026
