Crete Public School is seeking qualified applicants for the position of an Intermediate School Assistant Principal for the  school year. Position Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Education, including Nebraska Administrative Certification.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish trust and rapport with students, parents, and staff.
Job Required Tasks Instructional Leadership
  • Provides instructional leadership to ensure student learning opportunities are maximized.
  • Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs.
  • Provides leadership with the development and implementation of the Crete Intermediate School instructional vision.
  • Represents the school administrative team on school district committees as assigned.
  • Coordinate student teachers and other university observers.
  • Manage specific departments/programs as assigned by the building principal.
  • Positively promote the branding of Crete Intermediate School.
  • Coordinate with school counselor(s) and teachers to ensure personalized learning experiences are designed for all students.
Staff
  • Assists in the process of interviewing, evaluating, and selecting new staff.
  • Assists in determining staff assignments and organization of duties and responsibilities.
  • Assists in responding to questions, concerns, and needs of specific staff to accomplish specific performance objectives.
  • Observe and evaluate staff (certified and classified) as assigned and provide direction and support to accomplish growth targets.
  • Assists in the development of professional growth plans for staff and presents information to support professional growth as requested.
  • Refrain from engaging in conduct that interferes with the operations of the District, including the education of students.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other staff and administration.
  • Adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules.
  • Adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27).
Curriculum
  • Assist in the supervision, evaluation, and development of instructional programs.
  • Assists in observing and meeting with teachers to ensure instructional programs are implemented with fidelity.
  • Assists with the monitoring of instructional programs to ensure district guidelines are followed.
  • Assist with the registration and master schedule.
  • Serves on a variety of committees to meet educational goals as requested.
Students
  • Assists with and keeps the safety, health, and well‑being of students foremost throughout the performance of all duties.
  • Assists with student supervision at all times.
  • Supervises student activities before, during, and after school as assigned.
  • Communicates with students, staff, and parents’ behavior expectations and ensures the enforcement of the same; following the district established due process procedures.
  • Manage student behavior and discipline policies, procedures, and record‑keeping.
Resource Management
  • Assists in the use, monitoring, and expenditure of funds and resources provided by the district and other entities according to district policies and procedures.
  • Assists in monitoring facilities to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and the community.
