• High School Diploma or GED
• First Aid and CPR training required (may be obtained on the job and must be kept current)
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license with a certificate to operate a school vehicle
• Coaching experience preferred
• Ability to react well under pressure and manage multiple demands concurrently
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with teachers and administrators
• Successful completion of a background check

• Oversee and manage the assigned team
• Use good judgment to determine athlete participation during practices and games, including squad level and playing time
• Promote the athletic program positively within the schools and community
• Coordinate with the Activities Director in planning and scheduling practices, announcements, and competitions
• Supervise locker rooms and playing areas during and after team participation
• Remain with students and supervise them when traveling to away events
• Oversee and tend to injured athletes
• Maintain equipment and annual inventories
• Work closely with custodians in controlling facilities
• Serve as a role model to all students
• Act as a positive community member and avoid conduct that interferes with district operations
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff and administration
• Adhere to all district policies, rules, regulations, and directives
• Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and district rules
• Adhere to the code of ethics of the district and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27)

Exempt.

This is an “at-will” position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the Superintendent or Superintendent’s designee.

Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Community Schools Coordinator.

Regular, dependable in-person attendance; ability to perform the identified tasks and leverage required knowledge, skills, and abilities; and ability to meet the specified physical requirements.

• Sitting, walking, standing, sprinting/running, flexibility, bending/twisting at the neck and trunk, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the head and forward, repetitive hand or finger motions, climbing, hand/grip strength, driving, typing
• Lifting up to 25 pounds: floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder, and shoulder-to-overhead
• Lifting 26 to 50 pounds: floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder, and shoulder-to-overhead
• Lifting 51 to 75 pounds: floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder, and shoulder-to-overhead
• Lifting 76+ pounds: floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder, and shoulder-to-overhead; ability to share or break down loads over 50 pounds
• Pushing/pulling 25 to 90+ pounds and carrying 10 to 90+ pounds as required
