Essential Requirements- High School Diploma or GED.
- First Aid and CPR training required (may be obtained on the job and must be kept current).
- Must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license with a certificate to operate a school vehicle.
- Coaching experience preferred.
- Ability to react well under pressure, handle and balance multiple demands at one time, work with frequent interruptions, and perform duties and tasks at expected levels of professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish trust and rapport with teachers and administrators.
- Successful completion of background check.
- Oversee and manage the assigned team.
- Use good judgment to determine athlete participation during practices and games, including squad level and playing time.
- Positively promote the athletic program within the schools and the community.
- Assist in the selection and evaluation of assistant coaches.
- Coordinate with the Activities Director in planning and scheduling practices, announcements, competitions, and the like.
- Supervise locker rooms and playing areas during and following periods of team participation.
- Remain with students and supervise them when traveling to away events.
- Oversee and tend to injured athletes.
- Cares for and maintains equipment and annual inventories.
- Works closely with custodians in control at facilities.
- Serve as a role model to all students.
- Serve as a positive member of the community in a way that does not negatively affect the District’s reputation or image in the community.
- Refrain from engaging in conduct that interferes with the operations of the District, including the education of students.
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other staff and administration.
- Adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
- Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules.
- Adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27).
Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal.
At‑Will PositionThis position is an “at‑will” position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the Superintendent or Superintendent’s designee.
