Position Summary
Doane University invites applications for the position of Technology Operations Technician. This position provides hands‑on technical support for the university’s network infrastructure, computer systems, and audiovisual equipment across campus.
The Technician supports and maintains the university’s technological infrastructure, including troubleshooting network connectivity issues, pulling and terminating network cable, installing and supporting audiovisual equipment, and managing endpoint devices across campus. Responsibilities include deploying, configuring, imaging, maintaining, and troubleshooting university‑owned desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices using modern endpoint management and device lifecycle practices. The technician will assist with device provisioning, software deployment, patch management, hardware replacements, and asset tracking to ensure reliable and secure technology services for faculty, staff, and students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for campus network infrastructure, computer systems, and audiovisual equipment.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, pull/terminate network cable, and install/support audiovisual equipment.
- Deploy, configure, image, maintain, and troubleshoot endpoint devices using modern management practices.
- Assist with device provisioning, software deployment, patch management, hardware replacements, and asset tracking.
- Work independently and collaboratively within the Technology Operations team to improve and maintain campus technology services.
- Associate degree in customer service, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, work experience, or military experience may be considered.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing technical support or related technology services.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and network support.
- Familiarity with the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) at levels 2, 3, and 4.
- Licenses or certifications relevant to IT support.
