Service Manager – Windows & Doors

Direct Hire | Full-Time | Crete, NE

We are looking for a Service Manager for a well-established fiberglass window manufacturing company in Crete, NE. This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting and solving problems, and knows how to work with customers to make sure issues are handled the right way.

This position is responsible for overseeing a small team of two service technicians who handle window installations, repairs, and service calls. You will not be the person doing the day-to-day installations. Instead, you will be the person the service technicians and customers turn to when there is a problem that needs to be figured out.

You do not need previous fiberglass window experience. The company will teach you their products. We are looking for someone with a strong construction, mechanical, maintenance, field service, or installation background who understands how things work and is good at finding solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee and coordinate a team of two service technicians
  • Schedule service calls, installations, repairs, and follow-up work
  • Troubleshoot window and installation issues with service technicians
  • Work directly with customers when questions, concerns, or service issues come up
  • Determine whether an issue is related to the product, installation, hardware, parts, or another cause
  • Help service technicians determine the best solution when problems arise in the field
  • Coordinate repairs, adjustments, replacement parts, and additional service when needed
  • Make sure technicians have the correct information, materials, and parts needed for each job
  • Follow up with customers and technicians to make sure issues are completely resolved
  • Work with manufacturing and other internal departments when additional support is needed
  • Document service issues, repairs, and resolutions
  • Identify recurring product or installation problems and help determine ways to prevent them
  • Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the entire process

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, resourceful, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of problems.

Your previous experience could come from:

Construction | Windows & Doors | Field Service | Maintenance | Mechanical | HVAC | Electrical | Remodeling | Manufacturing | Skilled Trades

The right person will:

  • Enjoy figuring out why something isn't working
  • Have a strong understanding of construction, installation, or mechanical concepts
  • Be able to troubleshoot problems and come up with solutions
  • Be comfortable guiding service technicians through issues
  • Have previous leadership or management experience
  • Communicate well with customers, including when a customer is frustrated
  • Be able to stay calm and professional when problems arise
  • Take ownership of an issue and follow it through until it is resolved
  • Be organized and able to prioritize multiple service issues at once
  • Be comfortable using computers and technology
  • Have strong communication and follow-through

More Than Just a Desk Job

While you won't be the person completing the day-to-day installations, this also isn't a position where you'll sit behind a desk and simply manage a schedule.

We want someone who wants to understand what is happening in the field and help their technicians find solutions.

You may be talking with a customer about an issue, reviewing photos from a jobsite, troubleshooting a problem with a service technician, coordinating replacement parts, working with the manufacturing team, or determining what needs to happen next to get an issue completely resolved.

The company will teach you the fiberglass window product. You bring the mechanical knowledge, problem-solving ability, leadership skills, and customer service experience.

Experience

  • Management/Leadership: 2+ years required
  • Construction, Mechanical, Field Service, Maintenance, or Installation: 3+ years preferred
  • Window and door experience is a plus, but not required
