The Lift and Rigging Engineer is a senior‑level professional responsible for leading and overseeing complex lifting operations in construction. The role requires extensive expertise, strong leadership and a deep understanding of high‑risk lift procedures. You will mentor junior staff, ensure compliance with safety regulations and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient lifting solutions.

• Lead the planning and execution of complex and high‑risk lifting operations.
• Develop and approve comprehensive lifting plans and method statements.
• Conduct site inspections and risk assessments for critical lifts.
• Ensure compliance with national and international safety standards (OSHA, LOLER).
• Mentor and supervise Lifting Trainee, Level 1, and Level 2 lifting professionals.
• Coordinate with project managers, crane operators, rigging teams and subcontractors.
• Review and approve lifting equipment certifications and inspection records.
• Participate in lifting incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Contribute to the development of lifting procedures and stamp when required.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering with a current PE license.
• Extensive experience in lifting and rigging operations, preferably in construction.
• Proficient in lifting simulation software and CAD tools.
• In‑depth knowledge of lifting codes, standards and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited U.S. program or an equivalent program from a foreign institution. Minimum six years of construction experience. All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks, drug screening and motor‑vehicle records review.

Physical Demands

• Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move and walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered spaces.

• Use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls according to procedure.
• Repetitive movements.
• Work above 5 feet in height.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
• Work up to a 12‑hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outdoor conditions.

Work Environment

• Work in hot (above 90 °F) or cold (below 32 °F) temperatures or inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain.
• Work in extremely bright or low lighting conditions.
