Overview
The Concrete Paving Foreman plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of slip form and fixed form paving operations. This position supports the Superintendent in constructing high-quality pavements that meet stringent state DOT specifications. The Foreman is responsible for overseeing grade preparation, form and steel placement, equipment setup, and concrete finishing while maintaining efficient production rates.
Responsibilities- Responsible for assisting Superintendent for slip form and fixed form paving operations and constructing finished pavements meeting stringent state DOT specifications
- Inspect condition of grade, forms, and steel placement for compliance with specifications prior to concrete placements
- Perform or assist with set up of slip form paving equipment and steel forms
- Must be able to read drawings and implement them in the field
- Ensure that production rates are achieved daily
- Coordinate slip form paving operations using paving equipment with stringless technology with Paving Superintendent
- Coordinate and implement fixed form paving operations with Superintendent
- Responsible for all placement, finishing, and curing operations for specification compliance
- Direct and communicate with crew members to ensure high quality pavements
- Perform and report time to Superintendent
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required. Additional construction certifications or training preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Concrete Paving Foreman
- Candidates must possess strong mathematical skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with employees and DOT inspectors
