Position DetailsAs a Music Therapist at Mercy Kids, you will use the power of music to support the physical, psychological, cognitive, social, and communicative needs of children of all ages and abilities. You'll design and facilitate individualized music interventions—both instrumental and vocal—to promote meaningful change in areas such as stress reduction, pain management, mood regulation, and overall coping.

Key Responsibilities- Provide developmentally appropriate music therapy interventions to pediatric patients and families.
- Use music experiences to assess, treat, evaluate, and document progress toward clinical goals.
- Support a positive hospital experience by promoting coping, normalization, and emotional expression.
- Collaborate with Child Life Specialists, nurses, and the broader care team to provide holistic support.
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations (CPR training available through Mercy).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy and completion of a required internship.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Certification/registration through an approved credentialing body (e.g.,
RMT - Registration for Music Therapists
).
- Certification/registration through an approved credentialing body (e.g.,
- Experience: At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting
. - Additional Requirements:
- CPR (can be obtained)
