Overview

MGM Healthcare provides rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, and independent living centers in Iowa, Missouri and Oklahoma. Our centers provide on-site therapy and rehabilitation services - using the latest equipment and techniques - that run the gamut from physical and occupational therapy to special memory units and respite care. Our corporate office is located in St. Louis, Missouri. This position would support the all facilities.

Position

Summary

The Systems Engineer supports the organization’s hybrid IT infrastructure to ensure stable, efficient, and reliable operations. This role is responsible for assisting with and executing the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of on-premise Windows server environments, Azure cloud infrastructure, PBX/VoIP telephony systems, and Backup/Disaster Recovery (BUDR) solutions.

The Systems Engineer works closely with IT leadership, technical staff, vendors, and end users to understand business needs, resolve technical issues, and ensure IT systems operate securely and effectively. This position serves as a bridge between traditional infrastructure and modern cloud-based operations and may participate in researching new technologies, system improvements, and vendor coordination to support organizational growth.

Essential

Job Responsibilities
  • Support daily operations of on-premise and cloud infrastructure to ensure system availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Support and administer Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, virtual networks, and Entra  (Azure AD).
  • Manage and support PBX/VoIP telephony systems, including moves, adds, changes, troubleshooting, and coordination with telecom vendors and carriers.
  • Oversee daily backup operations, verify data integrity, and participate in periodic disaster recovery testing for on-premise and cloud workloads.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and technical staff to identify system needs and assist with resolving escalated technical issues related to servers, networking, identity management, and infrastructure performance.
  • Research and evaluate hardware, software, and cloud solutions to support planning, purchasing decisions, and future migration strategies.
  • Assist in designing, configuring, and implementing new systems or upgrades to existing infrastructure while minimizing downtime and operational impact.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for IT services, equipment procurement, ISP management, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Provide proactive maintenance, monitoring, and operational support using appropriate tools and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education & Training
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Licensing & Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Preferred certifications:
    • Microsoft Certified:
      Azure Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft Certified:
      Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, or IT operations.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure environments (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).
  • Experience managing Backup and Disaster Recovery (BUDR) solutions (e.g., Veeam, Datto, Azure Backup).
  • Experience supporting PBX or VoIP telephony systems.
  • Experience supporting mobile and cellular devices preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, networking, telephony, and access/security systems.
Skills & Abilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Azure environments.
