Role Purpose

As Networks Lab Manager, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and compliance of network test labs used for planning, coordination, and execution of build and testing activities within network product domains. You will manage lab resources, assist with test planning, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes aligned with organizational standards and timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with architects, product managers & engineers to define and build topologies supporting all NPS products.
  • Plan, configure, and maintain network lab environments, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and virtualization platforms.
  • Oversee setup, maintenance, and optimization of the network testing lab infrastructure.
  • Manage lab inventory, hardware lifecycle, software upgrades, and integration of new equipment/tools to ensure readiness for testing activities.
  • Coordinate scheduling and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Supervise and mentor network lab engineers; assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance.
  • Support development and implementation of comprehensive test plans for network products and services.
  • Ensure consistency with QA frameworks, compliance standards, and guidelines in testing methodologies.
  • Oversee execution of functional, performance, security, and regression tests across diverse network environments to ensure stability after updates.
  • Develop and enforce testing protocols and documentation standards; document test strategies, processes, and outcomes for audit and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as liaison between development, QA, and operations teams to align testing objectives with project goals.
  • Provide clear and timely updates to partners on test progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Promote standardization and automation in testing processes; implement automation frameworks and integrate with CI/CD pipelines for streamlined testing.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in lab operations and testing workflows.
  • Provide technical expertise during project planning and execution.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in network testing, QA, or lab management roles.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multi‑functional teams in fast‑paced environments.
  • Solid understanding of networking technologies (LAN, WAN, Data Center, Cloud) and protocols (BGP, VXLAN, QoS).
  • Advanced networking certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent.
  • Hands‑on experience with network hardware platforms (e.g., Cisco, Arista) and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of multicast concepts (IGMP, RP, PIM).
  • Exposure to low‑latency technologies and financial sector requirements.
  • Experience implementing security and compliance testing for network products.

  • Strong coordination and organizational skills for managing lab operations and project timelines.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages (Python preferred).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test management tools (e.g., Test Rail).
  • Solid understanding of regression testing methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
